How To Safely Pop A Zit
By Thomas Middleton

It so tempting, isn't it? That unsightly zit on the middle of your forehead is just begging you to pop it. Is it a good idea? Should you give in to your temptation?

While it's certainly never necessary, it's not always a terrible idea either as long as you go about it in the right way to minimize the risk of scarring. Here are a few tips to help you excavate your unwanted blemish.

First of all, you need to identify what "type" of pimple you're dealing with in order to determine whether or not it would be wise to mess with it. If it is a red pimple that is fairly new and seems to be under very high pressure, than it is probably not ready to be popped yet. Usually it will be ready when it forms a white head.

Make sure that you never ever try to force it out. If nothing comes out with a small amount of pressure, resist the urge to continue and wait for a day or two and try again.

If you apply too much pressure, you may be pushing some of the bacteria deeper into your skin which can lead to several more zits forming near the original one. To avoid this, try not to press inwards, as this tends to move the bacteria into the skin rather than out.

As a further precaution to avoid more breakouts, be sure to sterilize both before and after the procedure.

Simply give your face a quick wash beforehand with a gentle cleanser and you can use alcohol to clean the area after you are finished.

Just be careful whenever you attempt to pop any zit. Having a scar for the rest of your life is a lot worse than dealing with a pimple for a few extra days.
